I can’t believe it’s nearly a week since Leyburn 1940’s weekend, it was a great weekend celebrating the 10th anniversary in Leyburn market town and although the weather was a little damp Saturday morning this didn’t seem to put anyone of the weekend activities. A huge thank you to everyone who attended this year’s event and even came out in the pouring rain with good spirits. Unfortunately we had to cancel some of the dancing on the Saturday due to health and safety reasons with the weather but the sunshine on Sunday made up for it and it was lovely to see people dancing in the square after the Sunday parade.
There are so many people I would like to thank for making this year’s events so special! A massive thank you to Louise Quinn for putting on the display at Thornbrough Hall it was great to see people dancing on the grass! A huge thank you to Dave Robinson for coordinating the steam engines across the weekend they make a great addition to the 1940’s weekend. A thank you to all the trade stands, military and vintage vehicles who attended this year’s event it was great to have such a fabulous display. A thank you to the Rugby club for parking the cars across the weekend and helping at the Friday night dance. A thank you to Mike Phillipson for keeping the website updated all year round and taking images across the weekend.
The feedback we’ve have received from the year’s event proved that it was a great success and everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves.
We would love to see you all again in 2018, the dates are – Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd 2018.
A final thank you to all of you who showed up across the weekend I hope to see you all again in 2018.
